Every great hero has a villain that serves as their foil, their ultimate challenge. Rex Kayoss is Ditch's. He is surprisingly similar in appearance to Ditch, but has a distinctive southern charm.

Both the best friend and worst enemy of Ditch, they were once easygoing rivals. But their competition eventually turned into a bitter feud that persists even today. It's entirely possible that, without their rivalry, Rex and Ditch would be fighting side by side in the current situation, but capturing the "Ship of Thooles" has only started a series of events that will force Rex off his comfortable place on the fence and decide where his true loyalties ultimately lie.
